Clock: show day of week with short date?

Y'all,

Anyone know how to get the day of the week to display with a short date (or non-long-date) format? Alternately, how do I customize the date format to my liking? The clock now only offers three options (short date, long date, iso date), and those do not appear customizable.

Thanks,

Mind to share some context, are you talking about some graphical clock applet? And under what desktop environment ?

Yes, sorry, I mean the default clock in the bottom right corner of a plasma session. Right clicking allows a menu to adjust the appearance. I can select "Show Date" and the date format can be changed, but only to one of three formats: Short Date, Long Date, and ISO Date.

Short date gives me MM/DD/YY. Long Date gives Weekday, Month DD, YYYY. Iso Date gives YYYY-MM-DD. I'd be happy with the short date or ISO date format, but I'd like the weekday (preferably a short version) in front of it, as in FRI 10/13/17 or FRI 2017-10-13. I have looked lots of places in the GUI and can't find a way to produce that result.

Thanks for any tips you might have.

You may want to ask that in upstream forums: https://forum.kde.org - maybe it can be configured mnaually in one of the config files.
Seems currently you need to, see https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=289&t=128079 or https://askubuntu.com/questions/611240/ ... -tiny-font

Or use a different clock applet like https://www.linux-apps.com/content/show ... ent=175591

You can change the definition of the Long Date format, for example, to: SHORTWEEKDAY DD SHORTMONTH and then use this Long Date.
