I recently installed Mageia 6 on a 2014 Lenovo W540 and upon rebooting after the installation, the boot hung.

Pressing escape while it was trying to boot displayed text which ended with an error that led me to this bug:

The resolution for that bug was to add "xdriver=radeon" to the grub boot options. My monitor is an
Nvidia GK107GLM [Quadro k1100m]

so I added "xdriver=nvidia" at whic point the computer booted.

I am not sure whether to report this as a bug so I am asking here.

Well, this is partially covered in the errata: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_6_Err ... g_graphics
Although we can't probably cover all graphics card combinations out of the box, as this would need to be detected before running the installer.
