[SOLVED] All passwords in KDE Wallet lost after MGA6 upgrade

KDE Wallet Manager is empty after upgrading to Mageia 6 from Mageia 5.

In MGA5 various app were setup to to use KDE Wallet, like kmail (akonadi and stuff), Chromium, Firefox, Windows shares, etc. I was very happy with the entire setup. But now with MGA6 the same apps are asking to create a new wallet named 'kdewallet' offering a choice of blowfish or GPG encryption.
I should not create new wallet, since all my passwords are in the old wallet. The old wallet should just be used or imported if not compatible.
So, in KDE Wallet Manager choosing File > Import a Wallet .... doesn't do anything at all. The other option on the same menu, File > Import Encrypted when choosing ~/.kde4/share/apps/kwallet/kdewallet.kwl reports a file error.

At this point I am not sure what to do to rescue my passwords. Please help.

hi,

I had something similar with Digikam. The problem came from the config files that were in ~.kde4/share/ with KDE4 and in ~/.config with Plasma.

You are right. I just copied the 'kwallet' folder from ~/.kde/share/apps to ~/.config and it the triggered migration manager which sent the CPU usage through the roof for a few minutes but in the end it worked well.

Thank you Lebarhon.
