[SOLVED] M6 and firefox, youtube won't play videos

Installed M6 on an existing m5 PC, using the "Use existing partitions" option. Worked well, with a few programs needing to be re-installed.
Youtube videos do not load, using the Firefox browser stock from the install. Like wise with the Palemoon browser, (my preferred browser).
This was not an existing problem from M5. A speed test shows I am getting 65 Mbps download, 6 up.
Any advice, much appreciated.
TIA,
Joel

While, not a fan of it, have you installed flash-player-plugin (you need tainted repos enabled)
Can be installed via Mageia Welcome "Applications" tab or from MCC, search "flash-p"

I Haven't, and didn't think Youtube required Flash any more. Will give it a try, and thanks for the advice.

You're correct Joel, Youtube has used html5 rather than Adobe Flash for quite some time.

I wasn't able to get Firefox or Pale Moon to play Youtube videos on My Mageia Linux 6 OS. I ddn't solve that problem,
but found a work around. I downloaded the RPM based version of of Opera, and installed it. In the "Open With dialog",
I chose "Software installer". It asked for my M6 Core release install DVD. I put it in, and Opera installed, and plays
Youtube videos like a champ.
This isn't surprising, as Opera uses the Google Chromium engine these days.
Thanks to to all who replied.
