A friend of mine has a laptop, an asus UX303UA-R4089T

this is a newer model in the same series as my ux31a.

it has a i7-6500U, with built in intel graphics, similar to all the latest's i7's.

Integrated IntelĀ® HD Graphics 520

he gets display corruption, or distortion, maybe better described as noise.

this is most prevalent when using flip switch in kde, or lxqt, (with kwin), but it does happen in other situations.

Ive had him try the accelmethod uxa, in xorg.conf, but that has not made a difference.

My ux31a did used to do this under mga3, but was fixed by the time i updated to mga5, and was not anywhere near as bad.

Anyone else with a modern (ivybridge/haswell/etc) intel I5/I7 had this issue and resolved it.

regards peter.

Pretty unlikely I'd say apart from a security update or so.
