Hi magicians,
Is there any app that can keep my Firefox loaded in the system tray whan I close it or in RAM for that matter?
I have planty of RAM and I would like my browser to start fast ... not to be loaded any time from zero when I click on the icon.
Can somehow this thing be preloaded or smthn in the memory?
I serached in the forum and in repos and in the addons but i couldnt find anything.
I remember there was such a thing in Netrunner before but not sure 100%.

Thanks,

Astor

Yes there is something like that, take a look at the previous thread: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=3078 or at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/pr ... ync-daemon

Although you might want to consider a different browser, and/or an SSD.

Because I still don't get the use case for that. When I e.g. boot up, and then start chrome it takes 4 seconds, with 30 - 50 tabs open, with nearly 20 chrome extensions activated. And then I just leave it running.

Thanks Dok,
fisrt option didnt start the ff faster but rather was loading the pages very fast. In my case this option also freezed my ff and I reverted back and went for the second option that u suggested i.e. profile sync daemon. So far I am not impressed but still i can see slight improvement + they say it spares the ssd. So I will stick with it for now.
