This was an upstream Grub2 bug. It was fixed in Cauldron, and the updated version was put in 5 Official.

But in 5.1, I still see the bug. Cauldron is O.K. Is there a file somewhere that wasn't updated?

Mageia 5.1 is just updated installation media for Mageia 5.

Once on-line updates have been done they are the same.

But it was there in Mageia 5. I first noticed it back before 5.1. It matters only if symlinking to an installation on a different disk. Anyway, it isn't present in 6sta2, which is the future. 6 seems to do things differently.
