Windows Office Play on Linux

Postby carranza » Nov 1st, '16, 18:54

I have the latest Mageia but I cant install Windows Office 2007 for Vista OS. Keep getting errors like "cant find Excel.exe" I did this on Linux Mint after watching a You Tube video telling me how to correct the errors but I cant find anything for Mageia. Thanks

Please next time use one of the support subforums for support-type queries, thanks in advance.

What Mageia version do you use currently, which tutorial did you follow and what did you already do in particular, and how did you install playonlinux itself - from the Mageia repositories?

I think I installed samba-windbind but I will double check. Thanks. I get this weird feeling that the procedure I am using for the installation isnt right. Clicking the wrong buttons, I dunno.

As you did not actually describe what buttons you are clicking or what procedure you're using, nobody can tell ...

Exactly without windbind installed it will give you playonlinux crash dialog if you press next it will close screen.
Here is screenshot of that error screen.

you could also try "onlyoffice" which is supposed to have very little to zero format errors with Micro$oft Office.

It is free and the have a portable version too.
