compiling Kaffeine

Kaffeine 2.01 is currently available from source. It is believed that it has overcome
some issues posted a while ago.

Given that it is unlikely to be available in binary rpm form until mageia 6 is released (if then),
I would like to compile it myself.

The problem is that it is a nightmare identifying which Mageia libraries etc to install.

Is there a list of those that the last version used? That might give me a kick start.

kaffeine has already been updated to 2.0.1 in cauldron so it will be in mga6: http://madb.mageia.org/package/show/rel ... e/kaffeine

It's easiest to grab the latest src.rpm of kaffeine from cauldron, and then use urpmi --buildrequires on the src.rpm to install all necessary libraries and development headers.
Then just rebuild it. See also this thread for some explanations: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5530

I tried compiling and dentified the dependancies but urpmi --buildrequires etc didn't like what I could find on the repo.
Masybe I'll wait for mga6.

Yes, as it was ported to kf5 / plasma 5 and hence you would need recent versions of that under mga5.
