Hi, I don't know if anybody else is having this issue in Thunderbird. It used to work find, but after last update, I guess, every time I try to add more than one file to an e-mail it stucks forever "Adding ........ file" and the only solution is to cancel it. After cancelling, if I try to create a new message and send all the files as an only compressed file, it doesn't let me add files at all until I restart Thunderbird. It's pretty disturbing. Any idea why this is happening to me?

You mean attachments? Works fine here, if I select multiple files as attachments, they are immediately added in the attachments section in the right panel after clicking OK in the file selection dialog.
Does it only happen during sending, or already when you add the attachments?

Also, what attachments do you add (filetype and size) and where are they located on your box, and on what filesystem?

Yes, I talk about attachments, excuse my poor English, haha. The problem is only when sending, when I add them they appear as you say, but when sending it starts to attach them to the message and keeps attaching the first one forever. it only happens when they are more than one file, no matter how small or big they are -sometimes just a few kb), and they are in my home folder. usually they are .doc files but it can be any kind of file, in fact. i never had that problems in so many years using thunderbird and it started some weeks ago, don't know why. when it's just one file, no matter how big, there's no problem at all.

Sorry, can't reproduce here, although I'm already running thunderbird 45.0 (which should show up next week or so as update canditate)
Maybe someone else can confirm your issue?
BTW, what thunderbird version do you use, and do you use any addons?

I'm running that last version offered by Mageia 5 updates, Thunderbird 38.7.2 and my addons are firetray, gcontactsync, google calendar tab and noia 2.0 extreme xt.

I've downgraded to 38.7.2, still cannot reproduce, mails with multiple attachments are sent just fine immediately.

I hope it will work fine as it used to after next upgrade...

FWIW, there are similar reports, but it's usually not a thunderbird problem, but with the mail content, check e.g.

Does it also happen when you run thunderbird in safe mode? See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/sa ... -safe-mode on how to do that.

Thank you, I was reading them, it's not exactly the same behaviour but pretty similar. Now I tried to send some attachments from one of my e-mail accounts to another one with attachments and there was no problem, it worked fine, so I'm not sure if it happens just with some of my contacts -one of the most important, the company I usually work for...-.
I'll keep checking it...
