SOLVED- what is the right way to make a translation .srt ?

hello everybody , how are you all?
when i download a translation file .(srt) it doesn't work fine, the translation appears to be non readable , does anyone have any idea how to set the translation readable?
and some subtitles come with ssa format the kmplayer doesn't read it correctly while the vlc player give me error (attached)
looking to hear from you .

You may need to install vlc-plugin-libass: http://madb.mageia.org/package/show/app ... gin-libass

As doktor suggested install vlc-plugin-libass for ssa subtitle files. Also you may want to try mplayer from tainted repository to get support for ssa file. Regarding to srt subtitles, please give more explanation or better attach the file to review. I don't have any problems with srt subtitles either with mplayer (smplayer etc.) or vlc. You can investigate srt file by opening in a text editor like kwrite, gedit or pluma if it is corrupt or not.

thank you all , i found the solution , it is in the smplayer > options > preferences > subtitles > encoding
and you can choose the right encoding .
