Hi.

After upgrade to Mag5, VMplayer-7.1 stopped working. I installed VMplayer 12.1 Works nicely!

I have kernel 3.19-tmb, but VMplayer 12.1 docs (based on VMware-Workstation) seems to work upto 4.2?
We'll see...

Running on AMD-Llano-laptop, with Catalyst 15.7.

Vmplayer 7 requires a patch to networking to work with Mageia 5.

I patched it here, and have the patched file but don't have the details of the patch in front of me. If anyone needs it, I can send it.

edit:
I knew I remembered this, and I found it quickly. The required patch and the procedure is discussed here:

Is there something special in V7 that makes it NOT worthwhile to update to V12??

I am running VMware Workstation 11, not 12. I usually upgrade every other version, so I probably will not upgrade until 13 has been out for awhile.

So I cannot really answer your question. I only upgrade for bug fixes and to get support for new guest operating systems; I'm a developer and I'm forced to keep up with that stuff.

I have found 11 to be totally satisfactory.
