Dear all,
I can input Chinese in almost all windows/applis (Firefox, kwrite, terminal, etc.) but not in LibreOffice
(which is however very important!!). Read some posts saying that LO has some issues with KDE; but cannot figure out the things since I have Libreoffice-kde installed (details below).

So what's wrong ? Appreciated if can get help. :)

In Libre Office:
Tools>Options>Language Settings>Languages
Under the heading "Enhanced Language Support" select the check box to enable Asian Languages.
Then You can set your default language.

Up! Still unsolved ! :o
So is there somebody who succeeded to input Chinese or Japanese or Korean within LibreOffice ?
Very interested to know how to do that. ;)

Solved now! :D
What I did is:
- in LibreOffice: deselect the option "Enabled for Asia Languages"
- exit from LibreOffice
- restart LIbreOffice
-select that option
Then I can input Chinese chracteres (ibus panel activated), but see only empty boxs in the text.
This is just because the fonts options are wrong.
Then go to "Format" menu -> Characters ; in "Asian text font" select a font shown as a list of empty boxes.
These are Chinese fonts I am looking for. Select it; then THAT'S IT!.

To summary: all necessary packages are there; but because of some possible option/initialization clashes (for me!) between KDE, IBUS and
LibreOffice, I was troubled by the problem posted here.

Hope this experience could help other people! :)
