kdesu is not working as expected

Postby knightron » Oct 11th, '15, 14:12

Hello everyone. I've recently decided to install Mageia 5 to see if i like it. I've been using it for about five days now and mostly things are working nicely. A very nice distro.
It hasn't been without issues though. I am having an issue with kdesu. I have been searching for the last day trying to find a solution but have had no luck, so now here i am asking for help.

This is not consistent behaviour and i have not isolated the variable cause yet.
When i launch kdesu, eg: "/usr/lib64/kde4/libexec/kdesu dolphin", the password prompt displays. I enter my password, the prompt disappears as if i entered the correct password and then no window is displayed.
Within the console i am given this message twice.
Code: Select all
kdesu(5306)/kdesu (kdelibs) KDESu::KDESuPrivate::KCookie::getXCookie: No X authentication info set for display ":0"

Does anyone have any suggestions on how i may fix this issue.

Thanks.

Hi there,

just tested the way you described and dolphin starts fine here, konsole gives exactly no output after running kdesu.
You should probably report that as a bug, after searching if it hasn't been reported yet already: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/How_to_report_a_bug_properly
For completeness's sake and also to allow others to follow up on that bug report, please also post the link to it here in the thread, thanks.
