could you please share what you are using to download.

I know this might be obvious, but since most of us use linux all day long, we are not as familiar with what you may be using
to download.

my recommendation would be direct download using firefox, with the downthemall add-on.

what are you then using to md5sum the image? (just so we know).

does the iso size reach anywhere near the expected size? or is it short?

Hello and thank you. I did the downloads from the Mageia homepage transmission for torrent ( I have Mint installed) and Firefox for direct link. Then i went to Distrowatch to find the downloadmirrors, did choose the swedish one (i live in Finland) and it came down nice, now the md5sum was OK.And yes,the filesizes were correct also before. But my new problem is: i dumped the iso to usbstick with dd, all seemed to go well but then i couldnt open the stick to see what´s there, now i can´t remember what the message was, i was so frustrated that i formatted the stick.I´m writing this from my windowsbox, the computer to install Mageia to is an old HP-EliteBook-6930p with Mint installed. The USBstick is Verbatim STOREandGO 8 GB. Earlier my dumps were successful in the sense that i could view the files in the stick, machine booted from the stick but went to grub, saying something about grub.1st and something else,i can´t remember, then i started to check the md5sums.
I think i leave the project to rest for a while.Thank you very much!
