Hi Everyone,

Sofar, Mageia5 works great for me (Lenovo Laptop B5400).

I am considering installing it on a desktop computer for my parents, who are new to linux and are not really computer literate.

I would like to be able to log into their computer so that i can check if things are running well, or install RPMs or just update...

Any idea how I can do this ?

The solution would need to be secure (ssh ?). Ideally, I could even see on my screen what is going on on their computer... just like VNC...

Thanks for any hint
Vincent

I use SSH (openssh-server) for access from Android smartphone, GNU/Linux laptop and VNC (tigervnc-server) for access from iPad.
VNC can be tunnelled over SSH for securing.

I would repeat what ive said before

teamviewer

https://www.teamviewer.com/

its free, and allows your parents to say when they want you in their computer, sorting it out, and when not , ie when they are doing anything that is private.

I am making the assumptions, that you dont live with them, hence why you need remote control.
