[DONE] AbiWord docs open by default in Konqueror

Installed Mageia 5, then added the AbiWord word processor. Docs I create are saved with the .abw extension, but when I click on one in the Dolphin file browser they open in the Konqueror web browser. Is there a way to make these files open in AbiWord by default? FYI - I didn't have this problem in Mageia 4.

In System Settings - Common Appearance - File Associations, enter .abw in the "Find file type" box. Expand the "application " header and select abiword. Then move abiword to the top of the list of preferred applications.

If you can reproduce the issue with a freshly created user account, that would warrant a bug report so that the mime definitions for abiword are corrected.
If that's the case, please report that as a bug, after searching if it hasn't been reported yet already: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/How_to_report_a_bug_properly

Thanks Doc, I created a new account, results are the same: my test AbiWord doc opens in Konqueror. Will do as you say re: reporting a bug.

Hi Doc,

I didn't find a bug report for this issue, but I did find that reporting a bug is a major pain in the butt. I don't have the time to wade through it. The bug exists, and there is a way to fix it on my end, so I'll fix it for myself. Making it difficult to report a bug by an ordinary user is not a good thing.
