And this makecache run causes urpmi to crash when already running.

It has to be disabled before an online upgrade

I uninstalled dnfdragora (never installed the related dnfdragora-updater package), but dnf itself remains installed from the original installation.

Should dnf also be uninstalled, since I'm now using urpmi to update?

No need to uninstall it.
