[SOLVED] Update error

[SOLVED] Update error

Trying to update either through software management gui resulted in:

What exactly? Changing the downloader? Changing the mirror? Clearing cache? …

Also you could try changing to another mirror.
At home & work Mandriva since 2006, Mageia 2011. Thinkpad T40, T43, T60, T400, T510, Dell M4400, M6300, Acer Aspire 7. Workstation using LVM, LUKS, VirtualBox, BOINC

I tried to add /change media using sudo urpmi.addmedia --distrib --mirrorlist '$MIRRORLIST'
but it also resulted in an error:
"unable to parse media.cfg"

Add a specific mirror as outlined in the linked Errata and different wiki articles:

Check status of the mirror befor adding it:

I used DNF to update the system after which update using MCC worked OK

This thread may be solved for Mga 8, but packages for Mga9 (needed to install the Gnome-Desktop and Kodi) are still absent.
