signal messenger [SOLVED}

Postby lloyd » Apr 28th, '24, 14:05

How do I install Signal Messenger on Mageia 9? I tried installing it using Flatpak. (there doesn't seem to be an RPM or AppImage) That seemed to go OK, but I can't find any way to actually start the program...

Thank you.

How did you try installing it in particular? flatpaks should normally be listed in the programs menu.
Otherwise on the app page in flathub you can also show the run command, click the dropdown menu next to install at https://flathub.org/apps/org.signal.Signal

Code: Select all
flatpak run org.signal.Signal

That software works for me.

I tried to start it manually, which didn't work. I never thought to look under programs. It seems to be working now. Thank you.

It took me too a while until I realised Flatpak have that level of system integration.

I actually have a folder link on my desktop pointing to /home/morgan/.local/share/flatpak/exports/share/applications/ which conveniently lists all and only Flatpak applications to click to to launch.
