[solved]DNF is not in sync with MCC

Postby Spinnifex » Mar 21st, '24, 23:37

Hello.

I was used to update my system mostly via
Code: Select all
dnf

But since I installed Mag9 the
Code: Select all
dnf update

respond often with nothing todo. :?

Even if I clear all data via
Code: Select all
dnf clean all

What maybe missing?
I know this behavior from Mag8 in case of driver for e.G. Nvidia.
But today I get an update
Code: Select all
sqlite

Which I can't get via dnf anyway.
For me it is very important to update the packages via dnf
because of (OCD).
If something "went wrong" in my head I want to cancel the update.
Which is possible via terminal but not via MCC.
You can't cancel the download if this is started!
I guess no one does this often but for me this is common.
Even if you click the close button of the download dialog.
The dialog appears again (I use KDE).
My only rescue then often is to start the System Monitor and Kill the Process.

Maybe I should use
Code: Select all
urpmi
?

Regards.

Spinni.

That is because MCC uses urpmi and not dnf. dnf uses separate repositories.
You should read https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Using_DNF#Ch ... positories and the rest of that page.

It's probably better if you just use urpmi instead.

No, MCC always used urpmi.
