[Solved]How to monitor read & write speed of disks in MGA9

Postby gaojicainiao » Aug 29th, '23, 20:29

I love the System Monitor in Mageia 8 Plasma. I can monitor the real-time read and write speed of every disks.
But the System Monitor changed a lot in the new version Plasma. I can only monitor the speeds of partitions or total speeds, I can not select a disk.
How can I do that in Mageia 9?

You could use something else, like iotop. You could also check if any other plasmoids (applets) still offer that functionality.
Either use the add plasmoid dialog or check e.g. https://store.kde.org/browse?cat=425&ord=latest

It looks like the old "System Monitor" in Mageia 8 Plasma and the new "System Monitor" in Mageia 9 Plasma are two different applications, they can be both installed, I found them in Manjaro Plasma live.
The former has another name called "KSysGuard". So I need to find the "KSysGuard". But I did not find it in package management.
Any other way?

That does not exist anymore, it has been deprecated upstream. See https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32191

Thank you. It is good. Though I am feeling like backing to the stage of Symbian or Microsoft Windows XP.
