In boot menu select maintenance mode, log in as root.
Did you download updates during install?
If not, issue
urpmi --auto-up
If you have not configured repositories yet, you first have to:
urpmi.addmedia --distrib URI-to-your-mirror(details i have forgot)
After updating, issue reboot
If still no go, you could try another graphics driver:
In maintenance mode, launch drakx11.
In driver choices list at bottom under xorg, try first nouveau, and if that does not work either, try modesetting.
Could also try again with ncidia-current, which I think is the suggested choice, selecting to use proprietary driver.
If you like testing and contributing, Mageia 9 is coming to good shape.
You may want to join QA group and ISO testers, to download and try out a prerelease beta 2 Live ISO to see if it works, and if not your feedback is valuable for fixing
