[SOLVED]Accidentally erased files, MCC won't open

Postby berkana » Jan 23rd, '21, 02:29

Hello,
very very new to Linux, was messing around and accidentally erased some pretty important files. I checked the other thread for the MCC not opening but it doesn't quite have the solution I need.
So, this is what's up:
I click on the graphical MCC, I get this error message: [KDEInit could not launch '/usr/bin/drakconf']

I opened konsole, when I type: [urpmi --replacepkgs --replacefiles drakconf] I get,
Code: Select all
bash: urpmi: command not found

Awkward...
I type drakconf
Code: Select all
bash: drakconf: command not found

Awkward...
So I put in this: journalctl -ab | grep -F '[RPM]' | tail -750
Code: Select all

Soooo... if urpmi isn't working (I'll bet one of those files I erased is responsible for that...) how do I replace these files?

Thank you in advance!

To use the urpmi command you need to be root/super user.
Code: Select all
[you@localhost ]$ su -
Password:
[root@localhost ~]# urpmi

Also, it looks like you've uninstalled the packages so try just installing what you want. i.e.
Code: Select all
urpmi drakconf
urpmi mgaonline
I see my C has been in the sea too long - it's gone rusty.
