Can you tell what hardware is behind those fuzzy pictures of the feed tray?
I certainly can't.

Sorry I should have been more explicit.
The feed tray will tell you next to nothing, you'll have to pull it out and read the label on the drive.

Hey, man, I did not get why the post says solved, did you really get another burner???
I have a lovely burner in a Jmicron SATA-IDE-USB adaptor, k3b refuses to list as a burner, but from command line it works perfect with any software you wish, like cdrecord or growiso.

Too bad if you really drop it.

Well I've really fixed the same situation, I've took a burner from a desktop PC, put inside a box with a power supply with a JMicron adapter, and K3b does not like to burn anything on it, but if you go to the k3b configuration file and delete it, reopen k3b with your burner plugged in, it fixes.

Now I can burn CDs with the external USB burner.

~/.config/k3brc
download/file.php?mode=view&id=2086
