[SOLVED] LibreOffice toolbar buttons disappear/re-appear

Postby sglafata » Sep 1st, '11, 21:43

I have been installing the latest release of LibreOffice for the past few releases. Yesterday, I installed the latest development release:

https://www.libreoffice.org/download/release-notes/#LO343

I have had this problem ever since installing Mageia 1 when it was released. I did not install the official supported RPM package as it is an outdated version (even though it is the stable version, and in my own personal opinion). Either way I have always used the latest - previously in Mandriva and now in Mageia.

The problem I am having is that when I open the interface, the toolbars at the top are "missing", but if I mouse over them, the toolbar buttons appear.

I am at a loss. How can fix this issue? Does anybody have any idea what the issue could be? Is anybody else having this problem. I do not have this issue on my Ubuntu system nor my Windows system (I update all computers with the same version of LibreOffice when they are released).

I remember to such a problem with OpenOffice. Do You use KDE with gtk-qt-engine? It could be helpful in this case to change to another icon-theme.
for windows problems reboot; for linux problems be root

You should try to remove the libreoffice-kde package, if installed.

It's not installed..... Also, I tried choosing an icon theme, but didn't like it..... either way, it didn't fix the problem.

A-ha!! Instead of oxygen-gtk, I chose one of the other options, Ia-Ora Smooth, and now I have some nice looking buttons!! Thanks a lot for the help Alf and Doktor5000! I think this can be closed. Thanks again!!

Just for completeness to show the difference in the buttons...
