Thank you very much for the reply. I have already looked at this but don't understand why you need to create a group, for example, wheel. Is there a way for me to simply add archparsons to the sudoers file without the added complication of a group? If you don't mind my bringing up a second issue, when I try to boot into my Mageia 6 bootloader it now opens to the word grub> with no bootloader. I have no idea what of the many words listed under Tab I might type to recover the boot loader. This happened after an attempted update ended in a hang near 99% complete. I can still get in to a boot in window by booting from another bootloader on a different hard drive. I have to wait around 45 seconds for text scrolling up the screen before the login window appears. I'm a Windows 10 "insider," so I was a bit worried about having Mageia listed first on the bootloader list Windows 10 upgrades boot several times so I don't know what it would do if Mageia was the default boot system. Perhaps being that I can at this moment get into Mageia 6, albeit in an unusual fashion, it may be better to leave well enough alone. I have been using Grub Customizer by Daniel Richter for other distros but had mixed success using it for Mageia. Usually I get a long serives of screens of text which seems to go on and on for hours.
