I have a Toshiba laptop with 2 gig ram. It works well with kde/plasma 4. I want to upgrade to plasma 5 with wayland if possible. These are outputs from some commands you might find interesting
- Code: Select all
qmake --version
QMake version 3.0
Using Qt version 5.4.2 in /usr/lib
Attempting to install plasma-desktop 5.1 returns the following
- Code: Select all
The following packages have to be removed for others to be upgraded:
Default-kde4-config-5-0.20150505.3.mga5.noarch
(due to missing plasma-applet-icontasks)
kde-l10n-en_GB-4.14.3-1.mga5.noarch
(due to conflicts with plasma-desktop-5.1.2-1.mga5.i586)
kde-l10n-en_US-4.14.3-1.mga5.noarch

plasma-applet-folderview-4.14.3-1.mga5.i586
(due to missing kdebase4-workspace)
plasma-applet-frame-4.14.3-4.mga5.i586
(due to missing kdebase4-workspace)
plasma-applet-icontasks-4.14.3-4.mga5.i586
(due to missing kdebase4-workspace)
plasma-applet-notes-4.14.3-4.mga5.i586
(due to missing kdebase4-workspace)
plasma-applet-showdesktop-4.14.3-4.mga5.i586
(due to missing kdebase4-workspace)
task-kde4-minimal-4.14.3-2.mga5.noarch
(due to unsatisfied kdebase4-workspace >= 2:4.11.14,
due to unsatisfied plasma-applet-folderview >= 1:4.14.3,
due to unsatisfied plasma-applet-showdesktop >= 4.14.3)
I would like to have plasma 4 and plasma 5 co-exist if possible. I feel that if I remove some packages then I may have some problems if the upgrade fails.
Thank you for your support with this.
