[DONE]Knode fails to send messages

Postby santo » Oct 11th, '16, 13:08

Hope this is the right place for this tread.
I came back after one month holiday and tried to post on alt.os.linux.mageia as I have a problem with urpmi ( I know I could ask here as well, but generally I post there...)
I use Knode as newsreader.
I get error messages...
'The line is more than 80 characters long...' which is not true...
and ...
' The posting of this article to the server nntp.aioe.org failed.
Please check that you are not trying to post to a read only group.'

This is very frustrating also because I manage to post one small messages and now I can not even answer to the reply I got seeking more info...
also alt.test gives me the same result...
I do not understand if it is a nntp.aioe.org server problem or Knode...any idea how to figure this out is welcome...

You could create a new user account and test knode with that account to rule out if it's a local configuration problem.
Apart from that, can't help much with knode. You could also ask in KDE forums: https://forum.kde.org/

Thank for answering...I should have put in the title that I am a Newbie ( yes I still am...) and I get easily confused and alarmed by errors messages etc...etc...
I have changed the newsserver and it seems now I can post again... maybe I shouldn't have panicked as I did te last couple of days...

Thanks again
