Is anyone else seeing a problem with Akregator where a webpage loads for about 5 seconds, and then is replaced with a blank page
with the text "GIF89a" ?

Akregator has become absolutely useless - feeds cannot be read...

Anyone? TIA

You didn't answer the question - is your issue the same as that linked bug report? It has workarounds, too.

Blocking Twitter at my router solved the problem as per your suggestion.

Okay. Akregator no longer works. Some script keeps redirecting me away from the linked website.
Anyone else seeing this? Something about 'https://syndication.twitter.com/i/jot'

Well, that's an issue with the website, not with akregator. There's probably some kind of linkage with twitter on the pages where you pull your feeds from.
