I have a 1 TB Seagate drive I am trying to use as an external backup drive. My backup program is rsnapshot, which relies on hard links. I have created a separate partition on the drive and formatted it Ext4.
After a bit of use, the filesystem becomes corrupted and unmountable. All superblocks are truncated, so I am unable to mount from an alternative one. Seagate merely says it is a Linux problem. Do I need to try a different file system? I have looked at the discussion on the Wiki, but it seems to deal with mounting problems. I am running Cauldron, but this problem is not specific to any release (or, probably, to any distro.)
