You don't expect the whole KDE session to still work, if you replace all packages underneath ?

kate/write won't run after latest KDE updates - how to solve

Postby DiBosco » Oct 29th, '14, 23:44

a. I had no idea they were all replaced
b. If they are there should be a message saying "Relaunch KDE"
c. I was just mentioning this so other people who were struggling in the same way would solve it. Sorry for trying to be helpful.

I agree. It would be "newcomers friendly" to have that.

Thanks DiBosco. You don't need to be sorry. Any help is appreciated. Would you mind to prefix first post with [SOLVED]?

I changed it because it wasn't an appropriate thing to say. It was a how-to, not a question that someone else resolved. To me, [SOLVED] means a completely different sort of thread. Meh, do what you want.

A how-to, consisting of three words, and a complaint? Pretty good howto.
