Update conflict issue

Postby lordshipmayhem » Oct 2nd, '14, 21:20

Running the update on Mageia 4.1 install, with 13 packages to update. The update bombs at the following step:

2 installation transactions failed

There was a problem during the installation:

dkms-nvidia304 < 304.121-1 conflicts with kernel-desktop-3.14.18-3.mga4-1-1.mga4.x86_64

kernel-desktop-devel-3.14.18-3.mga4 is needed by kernel-desktop-devel-latest-3.14.18-3.mga4.x86_64

kernel-desktop-3.14.18-3.mga4 is needed by kernel-desktop-latest-3.14.18-3.mga4.x86_64

I'm going to deselect those three kernel-desktop file updates and get the other 10 (BASH, CPU Power, IPRoute2, 2 (two) iwlwifi packages, Kernel-Userspace, Kernel-firmware, Radeon-firmware, rtlwifi-firmware, rtlwifi-firmware and ralink-firmware) in at least, while I wait to see if there's a workaround anyone can think of.

As always, your assistance is deeply appreciated.

It may be that the mirror you are using was updating itself at the time you tried the update. Try updating again, to see if the problem has resolved itself.

Yes I agree. I have seen this problem before. You can also try updating your media sources.
The dude abides.
