[SOLVED] GnuCash unable to find mysql (MariaDB) database

Postby monolith » Aug 11th, '14, 16:29

Hello,

Another day another problem. I want to use GnuCash and use the mysql server running on my laptop as a backend. In GnuCash you can save your data as xml, sqlite, postgesql and mysql. I have installed MariaDB since it is a drop in replacement for mysql. I have set up myself as a user in phpmyadmin with all the permissions enabled and then reinstalled GnuCash just to make it possible for GnuCash to find my mysql setup. But when I try to save a new file i can only save it in xml or sqlite format. But I want to use mysql! I have tried to find a solution to the problem and in other distros the problem could be solved by installing libdbd-mysql. I can not find this file in the repositories for Mageia, nor the 64 bit version. Is there anyone that might have a clue to work around this problem?

OK, found it. Problem solved. I needed to install the "libdbi-drivers-dbd-mysql" package. It was actually marked for install but I guess it just never installed.

Cheers!
