Hi I keep downloading the 27 MB network boot image but it seems corrupted... have tried various mirrors etc... it won't open...

im thinking all conutations of wont open , like you trying to execute it, or something like that.

could you be a bit more verbose about what you mean.

ie have you even tried burning it to a CD or usb stick.

The download in question (network boot iso image) should be approximately 73 MB when burned to a disk.

I believe he's talking about the "all.img" which is meant for a USB stick but until he comes back and clarifies we'll not know.

it was the network boot image..... ???
the really tiny one...
won't even open in TOAST.... I have OSX mavericks...
also tried to download the 700MB image also won't open....
Tried torrent download as well possibly some issue this end but not sure....

Please give the name of the file that you downloaded and tell us exactly how you are trying to "open" it.

There are several network install images in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions:

After verifying the md5sum of the file that you downloaded you would burn or load the file to a CD or USB stick and then boot from that device to commence the installation:
