Is installation on lvm and btrfs supported ?

Postby farfouille » Jun 5th, '11, 20:32

Hi there,

I've finished the installation of Mageia1 and everything runs smooth except that Mageia installer was unable to create BTRFS partitions on LVM logical volumes. But may be, this is not a supported feature ?

On an Aspire 5738PZ with a touchscreen, the touch driver works like a charm (monotouch only). Great job !

BTRFS is still Beta, there even does not exist a fsck for it.

I have been able to use LVM on Mandriva for years, not for the / partition (/etc /sbin /boot) but for any others, like /home /var etc.

But after upgrading to Mageia 1, I can't boot and got the following message (after splash=verbose and suppressing vga= as well as adding radeon.modeset=0 because I also have had problem with the radeon):
Logical Volume Manager
file-based locking initialisation failed

What can I do?

PS: Using the rescue mode and replying yes to mounting the devices, lvm2 is nicely launched and all my LVM partitions (about 10 partitions) are mounted.

Many thanks for any help.
