making iso file from torrent download

Postby fritzthecat » Dec 13th, '13, 09:41

Hi all!

Several times tried to download mageia 4 beta to try it, but each time when i tried to install it, some packages could not be installed because of some error. I I suppose it was because it was not downloaded correctly. I will try torrent now, but don't know how to use other files? Should i burn as image only iso file and use other files to test md5 and sha1 sum? What is idx file for?

Thanks

.idx is the index, it's a plaintext file showing which packages are on that media, Also you only need to verify one out of md5sum or sha1, not both.
And for not making more coasters from bad burns, why not dump the image to a flash drive? https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Installation ... h_stick.3F
