virtual box setup

I have bee referencing ubuntu guides to aide me in the instalation of certain features for virtual box in mageia however due to the slightly different look of mageia I'm not able to implement the usb feature. In the ubuntu guide it says to add a user/groups but I can't see that in mageia. The user account is only thing similar. I have downloaded the virtualbox already uplaoded in software manager for mageia.

So you used the version from the Mageia repositories? From what I remember you need to add your user to the vboxusers and usb groups, for that you may want to look at http://doc.mageia.org/mcc/3/en/content/userdrake.html

You may also want to look at https://wiki.mageia.org/en/VirtualBox

To add a group, open the MCC, go to "System" and select "Manage users on system". You should see a big friendly button that says "Add Group". Call the group "virtualbox". Then click the "Groups" tab. You should see your virtualbox group in the list. Highlight it and press the "Edit" button (or right click it and select edit). Choose the "Group users" tab and click the names of everyone who will be using virtualbox.

Actually that's not the way to do this, because no new group needs to be added. Click on your user, click on edit, click on groups tab and tick the groups you want. Logout, login again.

does anyone know how to run terminal as administartor, showing access is denied. I am trying to install java as stated on webpage.

I also am having trouble playing any video content through any player. Audio is ok, but when dvd is inserted i shows a dvd is there correct name of dvd but only shows a bar when playing, no video content. I think this something to do with access rights which was easier to do in unbuntu.

At first, as a general hint and golden rule: Please only one problem per thread ;)

On which webpage? Why don't you use the java packages from the Mageia repositories?
