[SOLVED] Where is cron job for Clam updates?

Postby zugunder » Sep 1st, '13, 04:53

Hi,

As far as I remember from Mageia 1, Clam antivirus updated its bases via cron daily and the settings were located in etc/cron.daily. But in Mageia 3 I can't find this entry in any of cron config files (cron.hourly, weekly, etc). So where is it now?

Thank you.

Update of the clam anti-virus data base is done by the freshclam daemon. The frequency of update is defined in /etc/freshclam.conf. (You can enable or disable freshclam through MCC - System - Services.)

Thanks Jim,

Looks like I confused freshclam with something else. It turned out that update frequency is set to 24 times a day (in that freshclam.conf), so I switched it to 2, think it'll be more than enough as I am not running a server :-).
