Home folder in Places opens only Disk Usage Annalyser

Postby Fred01 » May 30th, '13, 23:51

After uograding to Mageia 3 - have just discovered another issue:

When I click 'Places' (drop down menu) on top bar menu and next click on Home Folder --
I don't get the Home Folder but it open only the Disk Usage Annalyser.

Have several times rebooted the pc - to see if mapping changed - without any result.
Same happens with clicking Desktop - or HDD

When I go from 'Places' to 'computer' in the drop down menu - the window computer
opens and shows HDD, CDDRIVE and all.

When in this window I do click on 'Home" - the home folder opens.
However I can not reach any further up for example to the system folders like /etc or
/usr -- as anything beyond the home is not visible and thus can't be reached...

Looks like the system lost in some way an internal 'route map' as to what to open .....

Does that happen also with a freshly created user?

Also, from your description i get that you're using GNOME?

Hi - yes - I'm using GNOME...
I've created a new user and logged in as new user... this opens a new look of Mageia what is I think KDE4 (blue desktop with only shown ''activities'' in right corner.
Have added a task bar and could open from there the home folder and others normally..

However when I logged out and logged into my own environment -- wanted to put power off - buts system comes back onto a login screen now with myself and newly
created user.... /// so I ticked again power off, but system just returns back on this screen -- I'm no able now to power of....

Have gone back and deinstalled the new user... /// however when ticking in y account the power off / system returns to a log in where still the new user
also shows... and when clicking power off // same thing again -- system returns back to this login screen....

-------------

Have now totally deleted the new user account / and trid power off again...
but system returns to a login screen where it shows now myself and óther'.. but when clicking power off or restart // nothing happens no more...

So in fact - instead of having an issue with reaching 'folders'I do now have a bigger problem....

----------------

Ok - have just killed the system / using th hardware power button // restarted and got directly into my user account --
have tried the power off / and now all seems to work fine again...

So issue left is the access to how folders....

Hi folks.

the issue that I can't directly open my Home folders still exists....
When trying to open - I still get the Disk space analyzer.....
Apparently can only reach my Home folders through 'My Computer'

Any one...?
