Is Revelation Password Manager available in repositories?

Postby sunwatcher » Jun 7th, '11, 03:03

I just installed Mageia 1 -- and I like it. I used Mandriva awhile back, then Ubuntu. I've always used Revelation Password Manager, but this does not seem to be available in the repositories. I don't want to manual add all passwords again. Does anyone know if Revelation is available for Mageia?

I'm also looking for a way to download youtube videos. I used youtube-dl in Ubuntu, but this isn't in repos either.

Any help is much appreciated.

If Revelation Password Manager is only a password safe, then you could use keepassx.

For downloading youtube videos, either you copy the url, open it in VLC player
and convert it to another format, or you could use a browser plugin or a website.
For Firefox there are many plugins, i use Downloadhelper. A website to do this
would be http://www.filsh.net/lang/en

KeePass and KeePassDroid are both free and work just fine. Works really good for me as I have a bunch of new passwords to keep track of and I've reached the tipping point of having too much to remember. Best stand-alone password manager I've tried. ;)

Yeah, revelation hasn't had even a point release in almost a year, and didn't have any releases for a LONG time before that. I used to use it, but distros started dropping it from their repos because it was getting to be such an outdated version with outdated dependencies. KeePassX that's been recommended here is superior anyway.
