Texlive fonts

When I upgraded my computer from Mageia 2 to Mageia 3, a beamer project that compiled fine previously did not compile anymore because of a problem of fonts. I had to add Map sansmathaccent.map to /etc/texmf/web2c/updmap.cfg and run updmap-sys (see the following topic: http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/ ... h-font-map).
Is it a general problem due to a bug or a local problem on my computer? I had never changed anything myself about the fonts.
