[SOLVED] No package named mageia-prepare-upgrade

Postby nickdegraeve » May 21st, '13, 16:40

I'm trying to upgrade to Mageia 3 from commandline, following the instructions on the Wiki.

It says to update all packages and then install the mageia-prepare-upgrade package.

The updates are installed:
Code: Select all
[root@localhost ~]# urpmi --auto-update
medium "Core Release" is up-to-date
medium "Core Updates" is up-to-date
medium "Core Backports" is up-to-date
medium "Nonfree Release" is up-to-date
medium "Nonfree Updates" is up-to-date
medium "Nonfree Backports" is up-to-date
medium "Tainted Release" is up-to-date
medium "Tainted Updates" is up-to-date
medium "Tainted Backports" is up-to-date
medium "Core 32bit Release" is up-to-date
medium "Core 32bit Updates" is up-to-date
medium "Core 32bit Backports" is up-to-date
Packages are up to date

but the mageia-prepare-upgrade package can't be installed:
Code: Select all
[root@localhost ~]# urpmi mageia-prepare-upgrade
No package named mageia-prepare-upgrade

What am I doing wrong?

maybe the package is still in core_updates/testing. so activate the apropriate repository and try again.
for windows problems reboot; for linux problems be root

Overnight the repositories must have been updated because this morning I had updates waiting and I could install the mageia-prepare-upgrade package.
The rest of ther upgrade process went without a hitch.
