[SOLVED] PdfEdit-0.4.5 for Mageia 2

Postby goprisko » May 5th, '13, 20:23

I went to
http://pkgs.org

on the web and found the following packages:

lib64-png12_0-1.2.49-1.mga2.x86_64.rpm
lib64qt3-3.3.8b-30.mga2.x86_64.rpm
lib64tlib5-5.1.2-12.mga2.x86_64.rpm
qt3-common-3.3.8b-30.mga2.x86_64.rpm
t1lib-config-5.1.2-12.mga2.x86_64.rpm
pdfedit-0.4.5-1.el6.nux.x86_64.rpm

I did this because the default repositories delivered broken packages.

Specifically virtually all the lib64 packages were broken, and
qt3 was broken.

I istalled the above packages using urpmi, and pdfedit is working.

Btw, I have source for pdfedit-0.4.5-1, but hoped to find a suitably built
package, which I did. The one I used was built for CentOs, Rhel6.

Any particular error messages? All lib64 packages work fine here, nothing broken.
Maybe you should change to another mirror, seems there were only problems during download?

Am sorry but the graphical interface, doesn't have facilities for changing mirrors. Need a mirrorlist for that. Got one?

It has abilities to choose a custom mirror. Remove all your default repositories, and from MCC:

Software Management -> Configure media sources for install and update -> File menu -> Add a specific media mirror -> Full set of sources -> Yes -> select the mirror you want.
You can have a look at the current status and speed of mirrors at http://mirrors.mageia.org/

MIRRORLIST is the default way to configure the mirror, it selects a mirror close to your location based on geolocalisation.

Thanks!

BTW, I successfully installed BRL-CAD using the Fedora RPM. It complained about a font, so I used rpm --nodeps and it looked ok.
Just to be sure, I downloaded source for 7.22, built that and overlayed that onto the stuff from the rpm.
Had to load 160 pkgs to create a build environment, in the process. But now I have compilers etc.
