external monitor keeps blanking out???

external monitor keeps blanking out???

hi there i have an asus external monitor going via the hdmi oprt of my acer v771g laptop lately it starting blanking out , that is the screen just goes blank for a few seconda i can move the mouse or kit a key itll come back on . but this is a pain . any ideas / suggestions ? ive checked power settings all good there so im stumped

You could edit /etc/X11/xork.conf and in the section labelled "ServerLayout" set
Code: Select all
    Option "BlankTime" "30"
    Option "StandbyTime" "60"
    Option "SuspendTime" "65"
    Option "OffTime" "120"
or some combination of parameters. Restart X for changes to have an effect.

You can also control the X server options as a user while X is running using the xset command.
