You want to read the urpmi man page:
Code: Select all
man urpmi

or the according wiki page: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/URPMI

jdownloader is Java. It does not need to be compiled.
On the projects download page there are instructions on how to install it.

Just to make it easy for you here is how to do it.
Start off by checking the wget package is installed, then.
Open a terminal window then
Code: Select all
wget http://212.117.163.148/jd.sh
chmod +x jd.sh
./jd.sh

wget downloads the installer file,
chmod +x jd.sh means make the file jd.sh executable
./ means run this program from the current directory

Thats it. It will churn away and install jd for you in the hidden directory .jd in your home.

To start JDownloader either open a console and enter
Code: Select all
java -Xmx512m -jar ~/.jd/JDownloader.jar -rfu

or else create a menu entry to start that command.

BTW: I have not spent much time looking at JDownloader, but are you aware there are other download managers you could install without so much effort?

If you use KDE kget is very nice. It operates stand alone, or integrated with dolphin or konqueror.

There is also uget which I have never used, and you can get the firefox plugins downloadthemall and FlashGot from mozilla.
kget and uget are installed using the mageia software install GUI.
