No password or login required at Boot?

Postby andy_o » Feb 8th, '13, 01:26

Hi,

I am just getting started with Mageia, installed yesterday, so hi!

Anyway's my question is, I have 2 users at present (well 3 if you include root), my standard user and Guest. When I initially turn on my machine and boot into Mageia though, the login screen does not appear and I am not asked for any passwords. Mageia just boots straight into my standard account.

I checked the User Account settings and 'Autologin' is set to off. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

I am using Mageia 2 with Gnome and installed from the Gnome live CD.

Many thanks!
Andy

Just to clarify where you saw this 'Autologin' setting.

Did you check in Mageia Control Centre>Boot>SetupAutoLogin ?

Hi, that sorted it thanks djennings. I was looking in "User Accounts" at the autologin option there.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction - it's appreciated.
