Kaddressbook, Kontact,Korganizer, etc

I like Kmail, it works fine but Kaddressbook and Kontact don't. I don't know why. If I want to add an address in Kaddressbook, It seems to work but if I open Kaddressbook, it is empty. The address goes somewhere because if I type the first letters of an address in Kmail, it pops up OK but I cannot find it elsewhere. Korganizer does not work at all.

Look at the address book window, IIRC on the left there should be a couple of address books listed. Try selecting one of the others. I remember having this same problem, I think it defaults to adding to a global address book, leaving the specific user book empty. Whichever way, you should find the addresses are in there, maybe under "collected addresses" or the like.
