Does Mageia, support yum or something similar. If so where can i fnd it?

Its in the repos, but is there a problem with urpmi ?

Not tried yum on mageia so don't know if it works the same as your expecting .

Instead of yum, Mageia has the urpmi suite of tools:

There is a GUI front-end for these tools, rpmdrake:

https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Rpmdrake

These are installed by default in all Mageia systems.

Although yum is in the repo's, it cannot be used with standard Mageia repositories.

Hi Mdm100,

Welcome to the Mageia Forum! :D

Yum is a software management of RedHat, Fedora etc. As Jkerr82508 said, the Software Management (package-management) of Mageia is rpmdrake, which can be accessed by going to

Menu button (Application Launcher Menu)-> Install and remove software
or
Menu button -> Tools -> System Tools -> "Mageia Control Center",
and in new window, go to "Software Management" tab, and click in Image "Install and remove software",

to open the "Software Management" of Mageia:

Obs: There is another Manager software installed by default In Mageia 2 , which is the APPER, (much simpler), which can be accessed by clicking on: Menu button -> Tools -> System Tools -> APPER
