[SOLVED] Mageia 2 and Epson 3170 Scanner

Have just begun my move from Mandriva 2010.2 64 bit to Mageia-2 64 bit, initially I tried an upgrade which failed. So I then did an Install ( keeping original home partition ) and all has gone well my Samsung ML2440 and Epson Stylus Photo R200 are both working o/k. The only major problem is an Epson Perfection 3170 Photo which I have not yet managed to get working.
As far as I remember on Mandriva I installed the 32bit xsane, then the iscan-2.10.0-1.c2.i386.rpm and iscan-plugin-gt-9400-1.0.0-1.c2.i386.rpm fromhttp://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/s ... archModule and it worked, but now this scanner is not seen. I will have to investigate further and ideas welcomed. So far my my Mageia experience has been has been excellent.
